Rik Kranenburg

Rik Kranenburg is an information services executive with a unique leadership track record in the digital and global transformation of educational publishing and financial information. A 30-year veteran of McGraw-Hill, Mr. Kranenburg now applies his organizational leadership and analytical skills in the positioning, sale and integration of new information services companies as vehicles to transform traditional publishing business models. Mr. Kranenburg served as the Group President for Higher Education, Professional and International Publishing at McGraw-Hill Education from 2005 to 2011. From 1999 to 2005, Mr. Kranenburg served as Executive Vice President for Investment Services at Standard & Poor’s, directing a strategic business repositioning to focus on the delivery of proprietary data and investment research. There he focused the $1.3 billion business on the development and distribution of a range of new educational software and services offerings and the migration toward a digital licensing business. Over the 1990’s, Mr. Kranenburg managed the international expansion of the Standard & Poor’s Ratings franchise, driving the ten-fold expansion of the company’s international revenue to $750 million through a series of acquisitions, joint ventures, affiliations and new product/service entries across Europe, Asia and Latin America. A Chartered Financial Analyst, he holds an MPA from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University and a BA in economics and political science from UC Berkeley.

Ed Stanford

Ed Stanford is an Educational Publishing Executive with over 40 years of experience in North American Higher Education Publishing, spanning print to pre-digital through the emergent digital era. Mr. Stanford served as President of the McGraw-Hill Higher Education Group from 2000 to 2011, and President of Prentice Hall Higher Education from 1984 until 1994. He received his BA in economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Isaac Segal

Isaac Segal brings over 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur and educational technology executive. Mr. Segal currently serves as an angel investor and President & CEO of NewTeach, pursuing his next venture while providing development services to Follett. He served as the President & CEO of BetterKnow Inc., a provider of tools and technology to the higher education marketplace that was acquired by Follett in 2013. Prior to founding BetterKnow, Mr. Segal worked as a Consultant to the President of Higher Education and to the Chief Digital Officer at McGraw-Hill Education. Together they developed the McGraw Hill Campus product line, which is now in use at over 500 schools. He founded and served as the President and CEO of Tegrity, makers of a fully searchable video recorder for the classroom, which McGraw-Hill Education acquired in 2012. Mr. Segal is an inventor on two patents and received the prestigious Israel Prime Minister’s Award for Computer Software in 1999. He received his BA in computer engineering, summa cum laude, from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.

Avishai Silvershatz

Avishai Silvershatz is a seasoned international private equity/venture capitalist with extensive and successful entrepreneurial and operational experience. He has a strong track record in identifying, leading and building growth companies and securing significant returns for investors. He serves as Managing Partner of Infinity, the first and by far the leading Chinese-Israeli investment firm, with approximately $800M under management. Over the years, he has been involved in dozens of deals with American, Chinese and Israeli companies, many of which resulted in exits by means of IPOs and acquisitions by leading companies. Mr. Silvershatz played a key role in a large number of Chinese-Israeli cross-border deals in all formats – investments, acquisitions, IP licensing deals, JVs, de-listings and IPOs. Two of the companies founded Mr. Silvershatz have been listed on the NASDAQ. Mr. Silvershatz is passionate about education and about educational technology companies; he has served as chairman of several companies in this field and has invested in many as well (both from Infinity funds and as an angel investor). As a veteran investor, Mr. Silvershatz enjoys sharing his expertise and know-how with entrepreneurs.
